Kim Hyun Joong's Interview at Haru Hana Japanese Magazine

Kim Hyun Joong participated in the public filming of DATV Charity program 「Message To Asia」 at Tokyo Dome in December. Recently, his activities as an actor stands out but this time at this event, he sang the theme song in japanese and it has been a while since he appeared on stage as a singer showing his charm.

“It really has been a while since I’m able to appear as a singer and I’m very happy. Also it was meaningful to me to be able to sing the theme song. To be able to sing in front of everyone, I myself enjoyed it. I thought that it’s really great to be able to join such a good event at the end of the year. I feel that the year 2010 has end off well.”


Looking back at Kim Hyun Joong in 2010, the first that comes to mind is the drama 「Playful Kiss」. In his earlier drama 「Boys Over Flowers」, he acted as F4 which is played by 4 members but this time Kim Hyun Joong plays the leading role. Therefore he has more appearance in scenes and during filming he hardly has any time to sleep.

“Filming was really tough. Stress has been piling up and there was no time to reduce that stress. So there isn’t any way to relieve stress (laughs)”

Even after the filming of 「Playful Kiss」, he haven’t been able to take a break slowly.
“The filming ended at the end of October and then consistently continuing a lot of schedule, like participating in the Asia Games Opening Ceremony and there is also commercial filming work. So still hardly taken a rest yet.”

When asked if he is able to take a break what would he want to do and he replied with such an answer.

“Thinking back, it didn’t cross my mind of any thing in particular that I want to do. Ahh, but, I would want to go to Jeju Island with my family. Then work again after resting and played a little. (laughs)”

He will be working on the production of the new album. In 2011, seems like it will be hard to keep one’s eyes off Kim Hyun Joong who will still be running on.

Moreover, Jangbeom is the type that always think and worry about everything, and he also write letters for his mother in his hometown. Because I always write what I feel down as a lyrics, I feel that Jangbeom’s personality is kind of similar with me. But because I didn’t live in the war era, I have to read a lot of materials about that era and also looked at the soldiers photo in order to understand Jangbeom’s state of mind. Of course I collect a lot of information for that, but I put a lot of efforts in the emotional parts so I can be closer to my role.”

“Of course I use make up to make my face looked darker, but because the color made using alcohol, it hurts when you applied it. Park JungMin’s first solo album ‘Not Alone’ is an upgrade musically as compared to during SS501 days, and its style shows his charm fully. While preparing for his own album, he also participated its production by writing lyrics of songs, which attracted the attention of public.

His first title song ‘Not Alone’ is made with luxurious orchestration mixed perfectly with synth, it is a dance song which one can feel both classical and modern music at the same time. With Park JungMin’s distinctly fine and delicate voice tone, orchestra melody which is a representative of lyrical ballad and powerful percussion, it shows a totally new feel of dance song altogether.

KARA’s Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara, & Jiyoung to split from DSP Media

Reports of KARA splitting from their agency, DSP Media Entertainment, has sent shockwaves throughout the music industry. The members of KARA, excluding leader Gyuri, reasoned that they had lost their confidence in their relationship with DSP Media Entertainment, and that it could never be regained again.

Landmark, KARA’s lawyers, reported on January 19th:

“Despite KARA receiving much love from their activities in both Korea and Japan, the members have experienced inexplicable pain that brought them to this decision. They’ve held it in for a long time, but in order to protect their rights and their future, the members have decided to part ways from their company.

KARA has tried their absolute best in compromising with their company prior to their decision, but their agency used their power in forcing the members to fulfill schedules that they did not want, and continuously added activities on top of a loaded schedule without prior consent or discussion. The psychological damages that the members were forced to endure cannot be explained in words, and their efforts have gone to waste. Their misery is severe, and they can no longer remain under such a company, which is why they decided to declare their withdrawal.

Trust is the most important aspect of a relationship between an agency and its artist, but the agency has been using KARA as a way to make money. A variety of issues that have not been stated are still present. The agency has decided the majority of the girls’ celebrity activities without any sort of discussion or meeting, and has rejected requests asking for explanations or for proper documents. Their relationship has been destroyed to the point that it could never be restored again.“

Representatives of DSP Media commented, “This is ridiculous, we are not sure what went wrong. We have yet to understand the situation. We’ll be releasing an official statement soon.”

The video of Park Jaebum singing 'Nothin' On You' was chosen as the most popular web video globally.

He had won as the 'Best Web Video' that the global social media specializing company 'Mashable' had announced. Last 6th, in the 4th Mashable Awards that took place at USA's Las Vegas, Park Jaebum received the honor of his Youtube video posted last March as a cover of 'Nothin' On You'.

Mashable Awards is an awards ceremony that shows the major innovations and contribution in the area of digital and social media.

USA's DMW Media revealed "Park Jaebum recorded a view count of a million and half views on the first day with 'Nothin' On You' in March 2010, and surprised with the total view count of over 5 million views".

Kara for a Drama and to Release a New Song

On the 10th, 5 member Korean girl group “KARA” announced details about their work in the TV Tokyo drama “URAKARA” (Friday, 12am, Starts the 14th).

Big Bang's New Album To Contain Rock Music

Big Bang’s leader G Dragon was excited when he talked about their new album which is going to be released.

The 5-member idol group BIGBANG will come back to Korea music industry in February with a brand new album. After the album released in November, 2008, it has been 2 years and 3 months that they restart their group activities.

When G dragon was meeting the reporter of Star News and he said they have already entered the final stage of production of their CD and they are making use of their spare time to put finishing touches to the CD.

G Dragon further elaborated , ‘because we know it is our music that our fans like most but not the dance; therefore, at this time, we are making music which can attract people of all ages and they are comfortable too.’

G Dragon said that their new album will tend to contain more Rock songs and BIGBANG will access various kinds of music as well.

In the new album, we can expect to find out songs sung by all five of them instead of their solos or duets. And they will be focusing on the domestics activities in this year with a view of meeting more local friends through a variety of activities.

Before BIGBANG comes back, the members have been active in different units. G Dragon and Hip-Hop rapper released their album last month and then they have been carrying our the promotion together. On 20th, Seungri will release his digital single and start his solo activities.

Group SS501's members Kim KyuJong and Heo YoungSaeng attracted attention when they revealed 'Someday, all 5 members will come back together as one' during their fan meeting in HongKong.

Chinese media Fensiwang reported on 11-Jan 'Kim KyuJong and Heo YoungSaeng said in front of their fans that SS501 will be coming back together again and so asking fans not to worry'.


According to the news report, both of them who recently held a fan meeting in Hong Kong, revealed their thoughts that they felt regretful that the fans weren't able to see all of SS501 members, they told the fans, 'Currently, we are going only going separate ways for our own development, but we have not disband so don't worry'.

SS501’s Heo Young Saeng to make solo debut this February

SS501’s Heo Young Saeng finally revealed his plans for his solo debut.
