Kim Hyun Joong Releases "Please" MV

Kim Hyun Joong released his MV for his single, Please today at 9pm. The teaser was released only a few days ago and has already gotten extremely popular with 300,000+ views. The teaser showed clips of him with a girl as well as dancing scenes. However, you can watch the entire MV now. The entire album will be released on June 8, which is when his fanmeeting is being held to celebrate his birthday.

2AM goes to Hong Kong

2AM was in Hong Kong on the 27th and 28th to promote their Special Edition Hong Kong album of Saint O' Clock.  2AM seems to trying to reach fan bases that are not usually covered by other entertainment companies (they traveled to the Phillipines last month).  2AM offered an autograph session in Hong Kong as well; they posted some pictures on their Twitter accounts as well.

It is unknown when 2AM will make their 2011 comeback, but 2AM member Changmin had just recently collaborated with JYP San-e last month to record "Please Don't Go".

SHINee Releases "Replay" Japanese Ver. MV

SM Entertainment revealed that Shinee was going to be debuting in Japan. After releasing the teaser for the Japanese version of their old single "replay" just a few days ago, they have just released the entire MV. This is their first song to be released in Japanese. 2PM's Japanese debut single sells 59,000 copies

2PM's newest Japanese single "Take Off" sold 59,000 copies in its first week of release. The single featured a futuristic concept and was released with MV shortly after.  Fans criticized the choreography as being too "simplistic", but praised the song for its "adorableness" and enjoyed the music as a whole.

2PM surpassed SNSD, who sold 45,000 copies  of their Japanese album in their first week, and Big Bang, who sold around 44,000 copies of their limited edition Big Bang 2 Japanese album.  But 2PM has yet to rival Japanese artists such as KAT-TUN, who recently sold 151,000 copies in their first week (KAT-TUN placed 1st on Oricon charts 20 times since their debut).

2PM is one of the many groups to be well-received in Korea (i.e. Big Bang, SNSD, B2ST, and KARA).  2NE1 remains to be one of the few Japan-debuted Korean groups not to be as successful in Japan.

Kim Hyung Jun Releases an OST for "Lie To Me"

S-Plus Company released a statement a few days ago that Kim Hyung Jun was going to sing an OST for the drama "Lie To Me". The song has just been released. It is called "이 밤이 지나가면" which means "If This Night Passes".

F.T. Island releases "Hello Hello" MV

F.T. Island released the MV for their new song "Hello Hello" that is a part of their album RETURN!.  The MV revolves around main vocalist, Hongki, trying to the rest of F.T. Island from inside a burning building.  Fans speculate that this plot may have to do with the fact that F.T. Island's dorm caught fire because of a computer monitor overheating.  The fire occurred only a few weeks ago on May 3rd.

The style of the song is just like most of their other songs.  It could be classified as rock music/indie to as narrow of a topic as garage rock.  The music has a faster tempo and is much more upbeat.

According to the translated lyrics from InfoTaip, the song is about the inability to say goodbye to a loved one, which does not seem to match with the plot of the MV.  Maybe Hongki really loves his group?

Heo Young Saeng on Shimshimtapa

On May 22, 2011, Young Saeng attended a radio recording at Shimshimtapa. The two DJ's were Gyuri from Kara and Shindong from Super Junior. They interviewed Young Saeng about his new album. Brian was also a guest on the show. Young Saeng took a few pictures of himself as well.

Wonder Girls dressed up for Kiehl's 160th anniversary

The Wonder Girls have been all over the world lately, but this time they have stopped in New York for Kiehl's 160th anniversary party.  Kiehl's is a cosmetic retail store that is known for its high quality cosmetics and philanthropy.

The Wonder Girls were at the Kiehl's philanthropy party today in New York, which was invite-only.  The girls showed off their bodies and great dresses (Yubin seems to have a tan as well).

The Wonder Girls are doing a great job promoting the K-pop image around America by attending events such as these.  They are one of the few K-pop groups that toured all over America and been featured in the American Teen Vogue magazine.

Siwon prepares for "Skip Beat" filming

Super Junior's Siwon posted a picture on his Twitter account today.  The message that was attached reads: "Getting ready to shoot my drama.. hope everyone has a wonderful day :)!".  

Siwon and fellow Super Junior member Donghae are currently in the process of filming the Taiwanese drama Skip Beat!/Extravagant Challenge, which required them to learn Mandarin and brush up their acting skills.  It was stated that Taiwanese actress Ivy Chen will costar with the Super Junior duo in the drama. 

Super Junior's involvement in the drama was revealed last summer.

It is assumed that the drama will be released summer 2011; no confirmed release date has been given.  

Fans curious about Kim Hyun Joong's future wife

Netizens have picked Kim Hyun Joong as the top male star singer-actor as the star whose future wife everyone is most curious to know about.

From the 11th to the 17th of May, Community portal DCinside,"Which male star's future wife are you most curious about?" as the subject of the investigation survey conducted, with Kim Hyun Joong taking the 1st place.

From a total of 10,114 votes, 2363 votes (23.4%) goes to Kim Hyun Joong. From his dramas and music activities in Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan etc, fan's complete support goes to him, placing him as Asia's top hallyu star where Kim Hyun Joong's restaurant and merchandises have reached a degree of high popularity. 4Minute enjoy the weather and take selcas

Jihyun and HyunA of 4Minute take a break and pose in what appears to be a park.  HyunA commented on how the weather was nice and posed with fellow 4Minute member Jiyoon, while Jihyun commented saying that she felt like she was carrying out photosynthesis and posed with herself.  A side note: South Korea is currently sunny with a few scattered clouds xP. 

Each member is wearing a school uniform; it is unknown whether it is for a photo shoot or for filming for a show, but each member looks great.

4Minute has won a M! Countdown award with "Mirror Mirror", but has had trouble receiving any other awards because of bigger groups such as f(x) and Big Bang.

Code-V releases "Tell You Honestly" teaser

Code-V, who debuted as Bless in 2007 with little success and debuted again in 2010 with Addiction, now returns with a new song "Tell You Honestly".  The teaser "Tell You Honestly" features more choreography than singing, suggesting that their comeback will consist of dancing skills than singing skills (while we're sure that they can demonstrate both)

Bless/Code-V's debut ended abruptly when the group could not get enough sales or promotion.  It seems that Code-V only has limited success as Bless because of a lack of promotion, not talent (view Code-V/Bless's 2007 debut album along with the teaser under the cut).

In 2010, Code-V faced another obstacle when their leader, Taemin, left them.  Taemin was replaced with Seo Min Ho, who boasts a vocal ability that can match Code-V's level of performance.

Code-V is now playing the underdog; the group is has been struggling since their debut, trying to get their hard work recognized in the K-pop scene.  Although they have been faced with an unusual amount of obstacles, Code-V has still been able to persevere.  

Code-V's comeback performance is more critical than ever for their success as a group.  Will they be able to perform well without Taemin? Can they successfully promote their music and set themselves apart from the rest of the new K-pop groups?  K-pop Central authors wish them the best.

B2ST returns with "Fiction and Fact"

B2ST, who have been absent from the K-pop scene since November, have returned with their first full album Fiction and Fact.  The album Fiction and Fact consists of 10 songs so far, including a title track "The Fact" (which also ties in with the song "Fiction").  They released a MV teaser yesterday, which is about three minutes long.  The album cover is actually a beast with B2ST in its mouth.

The MV costars Korean actress Park Bo Young who is known for starring in The King and I.

The confirmed release date for B2ST's album is May 17th.

Kim Hyung Jun and Kibum in God of Cookery 2

A picture was released that showed Kim Hyung Jun and Kibum together in the show God of Cookery 2. H.O.T's Moon Hee Jun was also seen in the picture. He has been in many variety shows lately. I wonder if he will make a comeback.

Currently Kim Hyung Jun is in Japan for the Japanese Live Tour. Kim Ki Bum has recently been working on HnB company. They have just began shipping off "Piro Piro's". They seem to have spent a lot of time together recently. Hopefully this episode will release soon!

SISTAR19 Sings Ma Boy on Music Bank

On May 13, 2011 Sistar 19' did a wonderful job singing Ma Boy live again on Music Bank. They currently have not won any awards for this song, so fans keep working hard!

Although some fans questioned the image represented in SISTAR19's comeback, their MV was well-received.  The simplistic choreography allowed SISTAR19 to focus more on the vocals, which were very strong not only in the MV, but in every performance they've had.

Their new song "Ma Boy" features 2 out of the 4 Sistar members (many fans were skeptical about the formation of a 2 member subgroup). The subunit, SISTAR19, consist of Hyorin and Bora who participated in the song and music video. Both of them are not 19 but instead the SISTAR19 is to represent maturing women. Hyorin is the main vocalist of Sistar while Bora shows off her rapping skills in this song.  Soyou and Dasom are absent from the subunit and have not had any recent activity.

The song and dance has gotten very popular so check out today's performance on Music Bank.

Heo Young Saeng Makes a Comeback Stage on MB

After releasing his mini album and music video, he made his comeback stage on Music Bank today. He performed Out the Club and Let It Go, both from his new album.

Unfortunately, you can see that he still has a bandage on his wrist. A few days before the release of his album, he has hurt his wrist which forced him to push back his album release date. Despite his hurt wrist, he released the album and music video last Wednesday. He still participated in variety shows such as Running Man and Happy Together. They have both episodes been released already.

In the music video and live performance, Hyuna from 4minute had rapped for the song "Let it Go". However she was not able to participate in the live performance and MV. Park Ju Hyun, the girl in the video, did a good job lip syncing to Hyuna's rapping. Hopefully Hyuna will be able to participate in one of the live performances.

Heo Young Saeng Releases Teaser for "Let it Go"

After pushing back his debut date due to a hand injury, SS501’s Heo Young Saeng finally announced that he’ll release his mini-album on May 12th! His agency had a lot of worries over his slow recovery, but Heo Young Saeng himself decided it was best to have a comeback soon.

Heo Young Saeng’s hand is not quite at 100% yet, but he’s passionately preparing for his comeback stage. He plans to drop a mini-album video teaser on the 4th, as well as some stills from his solo MV.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that 4minute’s HyunA participated in the title song “Let It Go“, and fellow SS501 member Kim Kyu Jong also worked on another song in the album.

missA releases "Love Alone" track

missA released their first English song "Love Alone"! This is a major change from what they have been doing before.  missA has an accent, but this is understandable as this is their first English album. Subscribe to J.Y. Park here.

It has been revealed that missA will perform "Love Alone" for Kim Yu-na, a Gold Medalist Figure Skater (hence the picture of a figure skater on the song's cover artwork), who will be performing on May 6th in a show titled "KCC SWITZEN All That Skate Spring 2011".  The performance will be in Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.

J.Y. Park teased fans with a 10 second teaser 2-3 days ago (check under cut with track) that gave fans a chance to listen to missA's new song.
